/I got new makeup from Mary Kay; since Dan's mom sells it, we got 50% off! Woo! Also, I captioned this one "Nice to 'nose' ya." haha I'm crazy. Welcome to the party./ 

/Erin painted my nails sparkly red! Didn't she do a good job?/

/Dan and I babysat Jack again (while Jeremy and Kaela learned to do the photo kiosks that Clay and Leslie do for cruise lines) and we picked up Erin after school so we painted masterpieces with watercolors for about 3 hours. That kid. haha/

/I made up a new recipe and it was amazing! I call them Sloppy Joe Cups and for those of you wanting the recipe, here it is: 

ingredients- About 1lb. hamburger (browned), 1/2 can sloppy joe mix, About 2 cans biscuits (pilsbury or whatever), shredded cheddar cheese

directions- Heat oven to the temperature indicated on biscuits. Grease your muffin tin (I used Pam and two 6-cup muffin tins). Flatten out your biscuits and place them in the tins. Brown hamburger and mix in sloppy joe mix. Scoop about 1 and 1/2 heaping tablespoons full of sloppy joe into the muffin tins on the biscuit (just fill the cup the biscuit made). Put in oven for the full recommended time on the biscuits (more if needed) or until browned. When there is about 2 minutes left on the time, pull out them out and cover with cheese then pop back in for the rest of the time. Pull them out when the cheese is melted and the edges of the biscuits are browned. Swirl a knife around the edges of the cups to get the muffins out and enjoy. (If you let them cool for a couple minutes before eating, you can pick them up with your hand and just eat them that way)/

/Well, here it is; my "final" (my compilation of everything student teaching) for student teaching. 4 inch binder packed FULL! This was my last thing to do for student teaching so now I'm ready for graduation! Ahhh! This is so unreal!/

/Dan got to participate in The Relay for Life that The American Cancer Association puts on to raise money for families that have someone with cancer with the scouts in our ward. I went and walked with him for awhile. It was fun but chilly! Poor kid got to spend all night there haha/

/I have been eyeing these little succulents at Smith's whenever I go shopping and I finally got me some! Aren't they pretty? I die./

/Saturday after The Relay for Life, we went to New Castle Reservoir with Dan's family. It was so much fun and Dan caught lots of fish!/

/Just, you know, having some quality Facebook time with my Dad haha/

/I love going to my parents' house! They always have the yummiest food. Fresh strawberries and one of my favorite treats that my mom makes, chocolate rolled rice puffs. If I cook for my kids like my mom cooks for me, my kids will be in heaven haha/

InstaTuesday #4

/This is where I spend my days at CVHS. Room 208./

/As we've discussed, I'm obsessed with Polyvore. This is what started that.../

/If you're familiar with the play, A Mid-Summer Night's Dream, then you know that it's all about mixed up love and it's just...silly. Well, my reading class gets a whole lot better when we read A Mid-Semester's Daydream (an adaption of the play mentioned before), and the students get to "profess their love" to each other. Especially when one character is a donkey mascot... haha. They loved it. They were recording themselves reading it and sending it to their mothers. I got a "What is your teacher having you read??" reply back to the recording of the few lines read in the picture haha/

/This one time, my Grandpa Smith bought a little motorcycle. Then he sold it to Dan and his brothers. It's so fun to ride!/

/Camping mistake #1: Giving this child a Monster Energy Drink. Good job, Dan and Ryan. haha JK he was all hyped up and hilarious./

/1st camping trip of the year! It was a balmy 20°F outside and the fire did NOT help but, boy, did we have fun!/

/Just hanging in the trailer with this guy. We could be models./

/I feel like, when I'm camping, I can eat whatever I want for breakfast. True story./

/I totally made dutch-oven potatoes for dinner on the camp trip and they were good. A few mistakes but I know what to change for next time to make them even better!/

/Study hall is so boring when I have no one to help and 90% of the students have gone to the lab. BUT I usually do get to hear all the gossip of the school in study hall (you know? drug busts, arrests, fights, ex-girlfriends, etc.) AND I get to hear all about Pokemon and computer games. I'm so lucky./

/Oh, just a shot of the boys at the pinewood derby tonight!/

/Tonight, Dan fell asleep before me, but that's ok because even when he's dead asleep, he still reaches to hold my hand. You know it's true love when he isn't even aware he's doing it. It's these little moments that remind me how glad I am that he's all mine ♥/

College Field Trip and a Surprise

Well, on Tuesday, after all my classes and working with the 5th grade for practicum, I headed up to the college cabin with Marissa and Jamie for our elementary education block field trip. We spent most of the night doing lessons on math, social studies, language arts, or science using the great outdoors (which included me writing a poem on Burrowing Owls, acting like a bird in a hurricane, etc. haha), then we ate dinner and had a discussion group on "land ethics" (kill me) followed by some guitar playing and singing.

When all that was over, it turned into a giant sleepover party. You see, we have 46 people in my class; 44 of those are girls, 2 are boys (1 married and 1 ...gay? haha). Soooo it was a party. We jumped rope outside until 12:30am then played cards (Scum and B.S.) until 2am, complete with oreos, popcorn, and candy. There was lots of laughing and even some Spanish speaking (on Alejandra's part haha). We had a great time!

Wednesday, we all got up at 8am and drove up to Cedar Breaks to go on a hike and talk about geology. During the hike our professors were showing us the Bristle Cone Pine trees and how old they are and such. While they were doing that, I proceeded to show everyone the "exploding mushrooms" that Dan's grandma and grandpa Johnson had shown me the week before when we went camping up there with them in Sydney Valley over by Brian Head. By the end of the hike, hardly anyone was paying attention to anything on the hike except for looking for more mushrooms to step on (when you step on these mushrooms they explode some sort of smoke from their spores. It's pretty cool). The hike was muddy so I rode home from the hike with my feet out the window. It was great and Cedar Breaks was really pretty.

I wish it would have had a bit more educational value but overall the trip was fun and I got to know a lot of the girls in my class.

When I got home, Dan told me had a surprise for me... a new computer!! I told him that he's in big trouble if he buys tons of stuff like that whenever I'm gone haha BUT this time I'm happy. We needed a new computer AND I'm SO happy to be back to blogging! Thanks, honey! You're the best ♥

Yankee Yard Sale

Saturday morning, Dan and I got up very early and headed outside to set out all of our stuff on our lawn and driveway to have a yard sale (day #2). When it was all set up, we sat back on the futon we were selling for Dan's mom and waited for people to show up. Promptly at 8am we had a few come by and look around but no sales. I turned to Dan and said, "Honey, I don't think we're going to sell very much today because we sold most of our 'bigger items' yesterday and no one seems very interested..." Yeah, I'm an optimist haha So this is when I swear Dan set out to prove me wrong. From that point on, our street was packed with cars; people were coming and going, buying and browsing! I was floored! I told Dan that it was only because of what I said so he should be thankful I had no faith ;) haha Although I'm sure it had more to do with the fact that my cute hubby was out there being a pro yard salesman. Needless to say, after selling most of everything we started with and ending up with a profit of nearly $600 ($800 when you add in what everyone else made), I will never again doubt when Dan says he wants to do a yard sale.

Also, Sunday night we went camping with Caleb and Christina at Yankee Meadows. It rained pretty much the whole time but it was a lot of fun. We stayed in Dan's cargo trailer that doubles as our camp trailer and played games all Sunday night then we went fishing for a bit on Monday morning. The rest of our Monday was spent moving Becca's furniture into her new place for her, cleaning our house so it's ready to show to future renters on Wednesday, and putting in a new ceiling fan and fixing the floor in our laundry room. Dan and I were definitely busy yesterday. We are really started on the packing now because we move in 16 days! Ahhh! I'm stressin' about work, money, vacations we have planned and getting our house cleaned and ready to go in that amount of time but I'm also excited. It'll be good. (Just breathe, Liz! Just breathe.)
