have a little foot in your birthday cake

I think we've discussed in previous posts that I am a blog-stalker.
Yes, we have.
SO on a pretty much daily basis, I proudly blog-stalk my cousin, Melissa's blog called Daydreams (check it out. She's cool).
Today she had a post called Up the Canyon which was really lovely and I thought to myself "Oo! I should do a post like that!"
I have always LOVED going 'up the canyon' to our cabin at Navajo Lake and for other various family outings.
It is especially beautiful in Fall.
But I thought this would be the perfect time to do an Up the Canyon post, not to showcase the beautiful leaves, but to showcase that there was a giant landslide that caused folks to not be able to drive 'up the canyon' anymore (at least until the road is fixed. Which they said could take up to 30 days since it is up to 100 feet deep in spots)...
So sad!
While browsing Facebook, I thought I'd share a few photos I found a few peoples of Cedar posting.
Enjoy... haha not sure that's the right word.

I'm not surprised this happened, really, because you could see it coming BUT STILL!
It's crazy stuff.

In other news, my in-law's came to visit this weekend for my cute nephew, Jack's 1st birthday!
I can't believe he's already a year old!

They stayed at our house (which forced us to clean up the 2 spare bedrooms! Yay! I'll post pics later...) on Saturday night after we went out to eat at IHOP (their pumpkin pancakes with butter pecan syrup are the best!) and we had a party for Jack on Sunday at Jeremy and Kaela's house (where Jack put his foot in his birthday cake... as you can see in the photo. He's cute).
It was a fun weekend ♥
