Hail.
Yesterday was a rainy and windy and cold kind of stay-inside day. And it was beautiful! I loved listening to the thunder and watching the rain and hail pour down outside my window while I was making dinner. Dan took a nap after work and then we ate and went over to Jeremy and Kaela's to watch The Walking Dead (our new obsession over tv). While we were there, I asked Jack about the hail because I'd seen him hanging out the window to catch some of it to eat. He said, "I love hail! I love hail! It's so cold; like snow!" and Kaela and I laughed because it was just a funny sounding sentence.
Also, we made peanut butter bars and they were yummy. Sweet, almost too sweet! But yummy. They were the no-bake kind and I think I like the kind you bake best... you know, like the kind that are more like a pb cookie? Yup.
So Jack is over at my house currently. He's busy making a giant mess with the linkin' logs and trying on Dan's boots while Dan is in the shower in the other room. "Look, Aunt Liz! I'm wearing Dan's shoes!" haha That kid.
Last night I was looking at my journals... well, my current journal and I'm so grateful that I've kept a journal off and on over the last 13 years because it's such a blessing to be able to look back and see all I've done and re-read all my thoughts about things. It reminds me of all the good in my life.
Speaking of all the good things... Aurora is definitely one of those! I clipped her fingernails for the first time today and she's kind of trying to sit alone. She's growing so fast! 4 months tomorrow!

Down & Derby
So, yesterday was the pinewood derby for my cub scouts. It was the first one I'd ever been to and it was so fun! The boys got really excited about it and they all had super creative cars. AND my sisters came to watch with me so it was a good time.
I love my little wolves and I love being a "den mom" haha
In other news, today is day #1 of my spring break. So far I've watched countless episodes of 30 Rock and laid in bed til...just barely... aaaaannd done one load of laundry. This is as good as it gets, people. I know you're jealous. haha Maybe someday I'll go outside in the sunshine... but we'll see. We'll see.

Addiction
Uhm... so... uh... last week, I had a girls night with some ladies that I used to work with and Sara Sanders introduced me to Polyvore. You can create outfits and stuff and yeah, it's basically awesome. Seriously! Well... I may be obsessed with it now. Just maybe... FINE, I AM! OK? I'm obsessed!! I have now spent countless hours laying in bed, watching 30 Rock (hilarious), and creating outfits on Polyvore. Countless. Hours. But look! They're just so cute! I need them all!
I guess that's what happens when I take a sick day from school. Well, that and I get to go to work with Dan in the morning and then spend the afternoon with him taking a nap and watching Tanked. So... I'd say it's been a good sick day.
I'm feeling so much better after almost a whole day of lounging. It's been a long time coming.

InstaTuesday
So, ever since I got my new phone, I've been completely obsessed with Instagram. Seriously, it's a problem. Sooooooo, I figured I'd start doing "InstaTuesdays" so I can log them all, weekly, in one place! I'm excited!
/This is my first ever post on Instagram. I worked the 2A Basketball Championship games at SUU and it was PACKED!/
/Couldn't help but take a picture of this little cutie, Logan. I was able to babysit him for one of my old managers, Alicia, at the movie theater. He was so fun!/
/Soooo, this is what comes from having no food in the house, having your sisters stay with you two weekends in a row, and being a slob. 4 boxes of pizza and a box of wings. Yeah./
/Told ya we had no food./
/3rd post in a row about food. I know. These are the snacks we take on road trips to St. George for date night/
/I can't get enough of the way those red rocks look when the sunsets./
/After church one Sunday. I love those earrings./
/The other night, Dan was putting in a new shower-head for our guest bathroom and I tried to take a pic with him... I ended up in headlock. haha/
/After many days of snowy, overcast skies, I was glad to see that blue again./
/My first ever Blue and Gold Banquet. It was fun/
/These were the cutest idea! Gotta love the primary presidency!/
/Basically, my brother-in-law's iguana is freaky. But you knew that.../
/We took our truck to Wet Willy's to be washed and vacuumed out. It looked like a brand new truck! haha BUT then today, it crapped out on us. Yeah, it better work again tomorrow or I might scream/
/I have the cutest nephew. No contest./
/I've decided that I have the best mom ever. I have short lunch periods at the high school so she had lunch all made for me when I got to her house. Homemade Chicken Taco Soup (yum!) and a homemade apple cake! Best!/
/Went pants shopping with my cute sister and ended up trying on random accessories and boots at Rue/
/Told ya we tried on boots!/
/I have a new cleaning schedule. It's keeping my house clean and I love it!/
/Found a new fave Netflix series! Parenthood! Watch it!/
/Played some basketball on our court finally! I had so much fun with Dan in the nice weather/
/We decided to try out the Duraflame logs since they were on sale... Yeah, they suck BUT it sure is cute and cozy to have a fire in our fireplace!/
/Melissa came to visit for a day! It was so fun! We made videos, sang, played with Becca's cat named Cat, ate ice cream, annoyed Dan with an overwhelming amount of girl (all the sisters including Christina stayed at my house), and laughed A LOT!/
/I took these beauties to church with me on Sunday. Be jealous!/
/Sunday with my cute sister, Collette. I think boys should ask her to the prom./
/My parents only had this vehicle for most of my life so excuse me if I have to remind myself every time I see it in the high school parking lot that they sold it!/
/I cannot get enough of this boy OR his freckles. I'm so lucky!/
/Yesterday we went on a quick and spur of the moment road trip to Monroe, Utah, to pick up blood from the Red Cross for Dan's courier business. It was fun to be together/
/The sunset was amazing on the way to Monroe/
/I made up a game to pass off a wolf achievement for cub scouts tonight! We had fun! Thanks for helping me out, Cole!/

Skatin'
Yesterday, Dan was off work so we slept in and watched our show on Netflix. Then we went shopping for new pants and shoes cause we both needed them badly! When we got home, we made strawberry milkshakes and Dan made me breakfast for dinner. It was yummy! He's such a sweetheart to me.
At 9pm, we went to the roller rink here in Cedar for a tribute concert for Dan's cousin, Kelly, who passed away in November. Everyone rode skates or blades around the rink all night and listened to music played/sang by friends and family of Kelly. It was fun to get together with Dan's family and remember Kelly. AND it was fun to see Dan out skating around the rink. He was pretty good at it! He even skated around with our nephew, Jack, for awhile. It was a good day!

Holiday Heroics
After a long and fun Sunday night playing games at both our families' houses and me drinking WAY too much Diet Coke, I proceeded to stay awake until 3:30am and thus slept in today until 10am. In fact, I didn't even realize it when Dan left for work at 6am.
Now I'm sure that if he'd had it his way he would've laid down and had a nap but I was starving and didn't want to cook so we went to lunch/dinner at Sizzler.
But I spent my morning preparing my lessons for the next school day and Dan got home from work around 3pm.
So when he got home we headed over to Sizzler and ate "linner". It was a good thing we went there because an old couple was there eating. When they left, the older lady was having a hard time opening the door so Dan ran over to open it for her and helped her out to her car. He came back a few minutes later and we finished talking and eating.
Not too long after that, the older lady came back to the door Dan had helped her out of and knocked on it. Dan saw her and ran over there. Seconds later he was gone. We had finished eating so I grabbed our things and went outside to see where he'd gone to.
When I got outside, I saw him helping the older man get into his car with his oxygen tank. We left a minute later and Dan told me that he had ran outside because the man had ran out of oxygen and was struggling to breathe! Dan had to hook up a new oxygen tank for him and then steady him so that he could catch his breath again and get into his car.
Good thing Dan had been there!
After we left, we went back home and watched Private Practice on Netflix until we fell asleep at 9pm. haha Yeah, we know how to spend our holidays!

R.D.
So last night, after we both got done working (me at the Megaplex and Dan cutting wood), we went on a quick, fun date. It was almost 9pm so it was getting close to close time for many places plus I was craving some sushi (the expensive kind from Ninja) but we didn't want to break the bank soooooooo we went to the Hong Kong Buffet! We were the only ones there besides all the workers so it was fun to just relax, eat, and talk. I got my sushi fix AND I had a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream (they have the best in town). YUM!
After dinner, we dropped by Dan's parents' house to grab a blanket to take to the movie with us (Dan has used up all his jackets doing dirty jobs...) and then we headed over to Fids to watch Red Dawn. That movie was crazy! It's about these kids fighting back when North Korea comes to take over America. I think I would die if America were ever a war zone. I'm so grateful to live where I live and to those soldiers keeping us safe and fighting for our freedom!
In other news, Bones has new episodes on Netflix AND so does How I Met Your Mother! Boo ya! Let's just say, it's a good thing this week is my last week of school because Netflix has started to distract me significantly. I watch Bones when Dan isn't home and then we watch How I Met Your Mother together. haha Win, win.

And I Crack Myself Up
So, this is what I do in class. (Don't give me an iPad) And I crack myself up.
In other news, I've started watching Psych again and it is so freakin' funny. Just sayin'
Also, I just finished a week of teaching 3rd grade in St. George. I dealt with LOADS of tattling, paper-eaters, a mock presidential election at the school resulting in Mitt Romney winning haha, and some dang funny stuff coming out of the mouths of children.
On Friday, we got to go on a field trip with the 5th graders from North to Zion National Park for the Plein Air Art thing. We got to listen to different artists and how they paint in nature and we got to observe the beautiful scenery of the park. Only one kid barfed on the bus ride there so I'd say the trip was a good one haha
Saturday, we woke up to snow. I know it's November and all, but I'm not ready for this cold weather! I had to go to a staff meeting (our first one since July) for Megaplex at 8:30am and I am happy to say that I got employee of the month! So I get to bring Dan to a movie screening with me for The Hobbit in December (Woohoo!).
After the meeting, Dan came and picked me up to go to breakfast at The Market Grill and then we went to Fids to see Chasing Mavericks, which was really good. We, also, went to a pawn shop to look around, checked out frame pricings at a frame shop for our St. George Temple painting, and had lunch/dinner at Sizzler. We ended the night watching Grey's Anatomy and going to bed early. It was wonderful. Our schedules have been crazy lately so being able to spend even one whole day together to be silly (see photo below) and have fun is fantastic.
On Sunday, my Grandma Barclay was in town for a grandmas thing with my sisters for young womens. It was fun to see her and hear some stories about her childhood and then raising my dad. One she shared from her childhood was funny. Her parents owned a bakery and they lived in it growing up. Her and her sister Carolyn were bathing one night in a large metal tub while her dad was making donuts. One of the donuts came out wrong so he threw it in the bathtub with the girls to be funny. In my grandma's words, "When we saw that, we each screamed bloody murder thinking the other had done their business in the tub! My dad thought that was quite funny." haha She also told us how my dad (who is adopted) went on her first date with my grandpa because he asked to go and my grandpa said yes. Oh dad! haha I loved hearing the stories she had to share.
